Need motivation? 27 quotes about persistence
My Amazon Fire TV Stick recently stopped working. I can’t tell you why, but I can tell you that I became frustrated when all of the usual fixes didn’t solve the problem.
But I needed it to work, so I didn’t give up.
I did some Googling and found another (more complicated and annoying) option to try. Following those instructions while throwing in my own little curve ball did the trick and it’s now up and running again.
I persisted until I got it right because getting it right was important to me.

Sandy,
Great series of quotes about persistence–a key quality for everyone in publishing.
I was interested to learn about your Amazon Fire TV Stick challenges. A few weeks ago I finally took the plunge and got a fire stick.(I know I’m behind on such things) It took persistence and a lengthy call with an Amazon tech to get mine working but it finally happened.

May I throw one in? I saw this on a semi-truck bumper almost 20 years ago: “80 percent of success is showing up.”
Thanks, Kathleen! That’s a great success quote!

Sandra, I got here from your FB post, which I always respond to. Thanks for the quotes–Thomas Carlyle’s, especially. Did I ever need these–and will for some time. I published my second short nonfiction book about two weeks ago. You would think I would have more savvy about it since I’m the secretary of St. Louis Publishers Association, but even though I’m ancient, some things just do not click for me. My first book has sold all of 13 copies, and that’s with an Amazon listing. My second one was rejected by Amazon through Draft2Digital because I had chunks of the book on my Medium account. Anyway, I am determined to set a promotion plan, and I ordered your free book promotion resources book. On top of this, which of your books for someone in my situation would you recommend beyond this?
Thanks, again!
Congratulations on the 2nd book, Michael! Take a look at my Book Marketing 101 for Nonfiction course. It will get you on the right path.

Thanks, Sandra! Michelle Obama’s sticks with me….writing IS hard work and a matter of making choices all the time. It is enjoyable, but I have yet to find it “fun.”
Cat, I liked Michelle’s because it was clear and to the point (and so true). I’m glad it resonated with you, too. Keep looking for the FUN!
